Overture "Barber of Seville" - Rossini
Navarra - Sarasate, Aniko Geladze and Mark Latham, violin soloists
Piano Concerto no. 2, First movement, Evan Huang, soloist
Copland - Appalachian Spring Suite
Ginastera - Dances from Estancia
Every year, the students of New Hampshire amaze us with their interpretations of music through their drawings. This year we're featuring Copland's Appalachian Spring. We'll be treated to a ballet of artwork when we match their drawings to the music! The concert starts off with the energetic and familiar Barber of Seville Overture by Rossini. We'll move to the fiery music of Spain with Sarasate's Navarra, a violin duet featuring orchestra violinist Aniko Geladze and our conductor, Mark Latham. We will have a special soloist, Evan Huang, playing the Maestoso of Chopin's Piano Concerto. Evan is the Grand Prize winner of the 2022 Sempre Music Competition. We'll conclude our concert with the energetic Dances from Estancia by Ginastera.
