The Phil

Welcome to The Phil's 2023-2024 Season!

This year we will be traveling to some exciting venues. In February, we will have an additional performance of Mahler's powerful Second Symphony at Plymouth State University. Our May concert performance of Saint Saens' spectacular Organ Symphony will take place at Ste. Marie's Cathedral in Manchester. We will also have additional performances of this concert at the Methuen Memorial Music Hall.

Streaming tickets are a little different this year. Your streaming pass will come in a separate email from your receipt just prior to the concerts.

Mahler's Resurrection Symphony

This immersive concert revolves around the monumental Symphony No. 2, "Resurrection" by Gustav Mahler. A colossal work of both intense emotion and grand scale, Mahler's second symphony is an exploration of life, death, and ultimate transcendence. The piece weaves a dramatic narrative, moving from the tumultuous funeral rites of the first movement to the serene, celestial vision of the final chorus. Throughout the symphony, Mahler's distinctive sound-world blends human voice and orchestra, creating a profound dialogue that transcends musical boundaries. The concert promises to be an extraordinary journey, reflecting the depth and complexity of Mahler's vision of the world. It offers an opportunity to experience firsthand the monumental power and transformative potential of Mahler's masterwork. A transcendent evening is in store for all who attend.
