Bolero! | Streamed Showing

This concert offers a captivating journey through the rich landscape of European classical music with a focus on impressions of Spain and Spanish composers. Mozart's lively Overture to "The Marriage of Figaro" kickstarts the evening with its enchanting melodies and irrepressible energy about a certain barber in Seville. Transitioning to the Spanish flair, Manuel de Falla's opera "La Vida Breve" enchants with its passionate and heartrending Andalusian motifs. Adding a unique touch, Xavier Garcia's Double Bass Concerto dazzles with its extraordinary exploration of the double bass's expressive potential. This is followed by Rimsky-Korsakov's "Capriccio Espagnol", a vibrant orchestral showpiece brimming with the composer's ingenious orchestrations. The concert culminates with Ravel's mesmerizing "Bolero", a masterclass in orchestral crescendo and a tour de force of hypnotic rhythm and melody. This concert is a delightful ride through musical peaks and valleys, promising an evening full of emotional resonance and exceptional virtuosity.
